Minister Andrew Napuat, responsible for the Vanuatu Police Force, has highlighted several critical issues requiring immediate attention: the high number of accidents, public disorder, and unemployment among youth.
Napuat noted a recent surge in accidents attributed to alcohol consumption, which has resulted in serious injuries and fatalities. He mentioned specific locations such as Feiawa Park and Fatumaru Bay, where these incidents have been particularly severe.
Additionally, he expressed concern over youth involvement in community disturbances, including misbehavior and disrespect towards leaders, which has contributed to growing frustration among residents.
The Minister announced upcoming changes to policies and legislation aimed at assisting the Vanuatu Police Force (VPF) and Vanuatu Mobile Force (VMF) in maintaining peace and security across the country.
