The Minister of Internal Affairs, Andrew Napuat, has commended the Prime Minister (PM) Charlot Salwai for his confidence and boldness in maintaining stability throughout the four-year term of the government.
Minister Napuat made this remark during his final press conference of this year held recently at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MoIA).
The level of leadership displayed by PM Salwai as the head of the government demonstrates dedication and commitment to the people of Vanuatu, he said.
“Despite challenges faced, the unity in this coalition has paid dividend.
“The PM, you have navigated and listened well to all your leaders. The caliber of leadership is what Vanuatu requires in future and I trust that future leaders will continue to display this level of leadership,” said the minister.
Minister Napuat said this is the first time in a long time that a coalition has survived its four-year term.
He stressed that political instability drains out resources and does not generate confidence in development partners. He also commended all development partners for their collaboration and continuous assistance.
Mr Napuat said he believes the successes of this government and the MoIA are made possible through God.
He then wishes all citizens of Vanuatu a blessed and prosperous New Year 2020.
