The Government will be building three new markets at Beverly Hills, Melemaat and Emua.

Minister of Internal Affairs, Andrew Napuat, said a paper to seek funds for the construction of the new markets is currently being prepared by the ministry and will be submitted to the Council of Ministers (COM) for approval.

Minister Napuat made the announcement during the launch of the Port Vila Central Market Hygiene, Sanitation, and Amenity Improvement Project last Friday.

The project aims to ensure there is safety and sanitation at the main market.
