The body of a well-known personality, Cooki Long Wah, was finally rested at the Port Vila cemetery this week.
He passed away in Port Vila last weekend.
88-year-old Cooki Long Wah, was the eldest brother of William Long Wah, who is the current Vanuatu Consul General in Sydney Australia, and another brother, the late Charlot Long Wah, well known business entrepreneur, of the Kava Store in Port Vila.
A close relative told the Daily Post that Cooki Long Wah, simply known in the 1960’s, 70’s, 90’s as “Cooki”’s favorite hobby was deep sea diving and fishing. He also loved sports and put on a smile everywhere he went.
The three brothers contributed tremendously in Vanuatu’s socio-economic development before and after the Independence of Vanuatu, 38 years ago.
“We all miss Cooki, his family take this opportunity to express their much appreciation to close friends and friends in Vanuatu and abroad for condolences messages during the passing away of the late “Cooki” as he was always known during his lifetime here in Vanuatu”, says a close relative.
The late Cooki as he was always known spend the last part of his 88 years of life between Vanuatu and Australia until his death.
It was his last wish to be finally rested in Port Vila, his birth place and the town where he grew up, educated and lived most of his life in, said the close relative.
